What’s the worst movie you’ve seen recently? What was so bad about it?
I’ve been very fortunate lately; I haven’t seen any bad movies. Of course, I also go to see movies by myself, so there’s nobody to influence my choices. My family has notoriously bad taste in movies (they are not as cultured as I am).
Here are some of the movies my family has forced me to watch:
Jason X -
I hate scary movies, but this one was scary only in the sense that someone actually paid money to put it on the screen. It insulted my intelligence; seriously, I am dumber as a result of having watched that movie. Reason: robotic ants with healing powers. As a fan of musical theater, I am good at suspending my disbelief, but COME ON.
Dumb and Dumber -
It’s in the title, isn’t it? Before we went to this movie, my dad read Roger Ebert’s review, in which D&D received zero stars. Throughout the showing of the film, he kept leaning over and saying, “ZERO STARS.” My least favorite moment (it was hard to choose just one) is when Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels get to Colorado (?) and they have frozen snot on their faces. That is wrong on so many levels.
The Scarlet Letter -
I am a fan of the book, which is why I hate this movie so much. You would think that filmmakers would be more respectful of an American classic, but … no. First, Demi Moore is no Hester Prynne. Second, [SPOILER!] the book does not end happily, but the movie does. Third, there’s this huge fight with the Indians that came out of nowhere–NOWHERE! I just get mad thinking about it.
See Spot Run -
Reason one: David Arquette
Reason two: Five minutes of falling into dog poo.
Reason three: “It was recommended to me by one of my [fifth grade] students,” my dad said.

Well, as it so happens, I saw a movie Friday. Meet the Spartans. Trust me it was not my idea. It was one of my guy friends and my boyfriend’s movie choices.(I had faith in their decision because the y generally pick out really good movies) Needless to say, we were all a bit disappointed by this film.
First: I just happen to like the movie 300. And the whole high five and kissing thing just ruined it for me.
Second: Brittney Spears, LEAVE HER ALONE ALREADY. I get so sick of everything being about her, whether it be good or bad. Just let her live her life. It’s not like we chase you around with cameras and catch you doing immoral things.
third: Xerxes, enough said for that movie
fourth: the whole evil guy from 007 and the bleeding thing was a bit disturbing.
fifth:Carmen Electra. what were you thinking , she was well lets not go there. (not appropriate for this blog)
All in all there are just so many things that were just wrong.
However, there were somethings that were so stupid that it was funny. But this movie is for immature people. It took a lot for me to laugh at this movie.

Well I haven’t really seen any movies that I thought were bad. Mainly because if a movie looks stupid then I just don’t see it. I’m also really picky about what I go to see. But, If I had to pick a movie I would have to say One Missed Call. That movie really didn’t live up to its expectations. Besides that, there were a whole bunch of little kids sitting on the bottom rows screaming at everything. Let me tell you that movie wasn’t even scary.

I haven’t seen any movies recently that I didn’t like, but I did watch The Break-Up semi-recently. It was HORRIBLE! Vince Vahn wasn’t even funny and I had to make myself watch it. And the ending was soooo stupid. It was just a real dud.

I don’t know really….. But there was this football movie that my old school made us go see last year. Oh my gosh…. That movie was awful. There was awful acting, a stupid plot about people who “miraculously” end up believing in themselves and a stupid team that should not even exist. Oh yes and like every other sports movie there is the coach that has lost his fate in humanity and ends up finding God in the end. Wow. Amazing. I was able to predict every single thing in that stupid movie. I wanted to barf myself into a coma after that movie.

The most recent movie that I saw that wasn’t that good was I Am Legend. The overall movie was okay, but it wasn’t what I expected out of Will Smith. And at the end the movie, it just suddendly ends when it seems its about to start down a new path. I think the movie and acting could have been better.

I haven’t seen any movies lately, but one I do remeber seeing a very boring movie called…called…Strranger than Fiction with Will Ferrel. Where to start? The whole story was about a guy who heard a voice in his head. The voice narrorated everything he did. It turns out The voice belonged to his favorite author and she was controlling his life-whatever she wrote for her novel would happen to him. This means that because she always kills her characters, she has killed a lot of people. The main character gets a hold of the rest of the novel and chooses to die because “it was too beautiful”.
that was so boring.
I watched that one on a school trip. Sorta.

The all time worst film I have ever seen was Santa Conquers the Martians. First of all, what kind of title is that?! I mean, come on. Second, there isn’t even any violence watsoever. Shouldn’t the title signify some sort of violence, even if its a raygun that makes you disapear or something. Third, the actors were horrible. No offense, but them being “professional actors” the Munford Drama Society could have done better, all four of us. Fourth, the plot was the worst situation a human being could even conjure within his mind. Fifth, the graphics and “special” effects were horrible. The movie as a whole was an utter failure, yet they still show it on television every now and then.
